A 3.5 year study of over 1,600 seniors found those whose diets were low in vitamin B6 (found in chicken, fish, tofu, sweet potatoes and bananas) were nearly 3 times more likely to become frail than those whose diets were rich in B6.

Frailty was also linked to low levels of vitamin E found in almonds and sunflower seeds and low levels of vitamin C found in broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and lemons.
